Safety Innovations

HASL in pursuit of expanding the options available to clients have brought to the industry new levels of fall prevention technology with the introduction of a Revolutionary Edge Protection system 'Safedge' conforming to EN13374 :2004 Temporary edge protection systems - Product specification, test methods.

Asda Distribution DoncasterHASL 'Safedge' has provided our clients with the only system on the market that prevents the worker from falling by providing a 'comfort' handrail and also incorporates a fall arrest safety net to BS 1263 - 1 & 2: 2002 Safety nets - Safety requirements, test methods, positioning limits. This system has been developed by understanding our clients problems with other EN13374 - Class C products on the market,  These Class C systems do not incorporate handrails and therefore only provide workers with fall arrest protection which is unacceptable in the hierarchy of risk management as this fall could be prevented with the incorporation of a fixed handrail.

HASL lead the FASET membership group with their procedures in the logging and recording of all our safety nets . Therefore this allows complete traceability of each safety net from date of purchase to date of disposal.

HASL have recently introduced logging software and printed card certification to all operatives in order to provide our clients quick access to all relevant information regarding operative training, certification, LOLER log PPE inspections and conformity certification validation.

FASET

FASETHASL joined FASET - Fall Arrest Safety Equipment Training in 2006. FASET are the trade association and training body for the safety net rigging and the fall arrest industry.

FASET has been growing in membership as companies have begun to recognise the benefits of being associated with the high standards represented by FASET as main contractors realise the benefits in employeing a FASET member orgainsation over one that is not. All members undergo a rigorous financial and stock audit to ensure that the correct management systems are in place before membersihip is allowed. All members must adhere to FASET strict guidelines.  Each memebre should employ regular spot check audits on an ongoing basis to prove to the international industry that FASET members continue to be the driving force of expertise and quality in the UK and Irish safety net rigging industry.

Many MCG's will choose to use Full FASET member companies who will work to FASET guidelines on their projects as a sign of quality assurance. FASET are committed to health and safety, training, high levels of workmanship, innovation, guidance for the industry, and in dealing with all technical issues facing the industry and far more.

Health & Safety Legislation

Being a contractor, designer, building owner, you have a duty of care to ensure that those who work on your project can work safely minimising risk to their own welfare and others around. Falls from height are the biggest cause of death and injury in the construction industry, and so are one of the greatest hazards.

Created from the implementation of the 'Health & Safety at Work Act 1974' there is specific legislation to be aware of:

    Canary Wharf London
  • Working at Height Regulations 2005
  • Workplace Health & Safety Welfare Regulations 1992
  • Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992
  • The Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 1992
  • Construction Design & Management Regulations 1994

The above list is not exhaustive but identifies some of the key regulations that we deal with on a daily basis. HASL will inter-operate and implement them into a cost effective and workable solution for you. Our expertise will ensure that your liability is reduced as we assist you in minimising risk through hazard management.

HASL employs a full range of products and services to provide custom designed solutions to suit individual applications. No two situations are exactly alike and the solution we can provide will take this into account when considering the various integrating relationships between each of the criteria. To ensure that all legislative requirements are met ; a competent and experienced person will carry out a full site survey and if necessary a risk assessment. Only when the HASL team is satisfied that all the relevant information is known will a solution be proposed.

HASL is always on hand to provide clients with ongoing support that includes training, PPE supplies and up to the minute height safety advice.
