Modern Roofs

Uniline RoofUniline's systems can be fitted to a wide range of modern roof systems - including

Standing Seam, Built Up, Composite, Single Ply, Membrane, Modern Bitumen, Green Roofs.

Working with the leading manufacturers has enabled Uniline to gain a thorough understanding of structural tolerances, weather proofing and conformity with environmental and safety legislation. This knowledge has enabled Uniline to develop several unique ways to secure anchors to roof surfaces with minimal or no actual penetration of the roof sheet.

Uniline's range of Force Management Anchors are designed to dissipate impact loads created during falls through re-orientation and energy absorption, effectively distributing loads to within tolerable roof sheet / structural limits.

Uniline RoofTypical installations utilise Uniline or Uni-8 horizontal lifeline components however, in recognition of some the known limitations of all horizontal lifelines (particularly in terms of aesthetics), Uniline enhanced its modern roof solutions through the introduction of RoofSafe.A unique rail solution that not only further reduces distributed loads - it can also be used for rope suspended access by suitably qualified personnel.

Traditional Roofs and Buildings

Its reasonable to assume that someone, some time will gain access to your roof be it for repair, inspection, maintenance or replacement. Securing safe access on older premises is often difficult especially where the access surface is steep, slippery, loose, and/or in place fragile.

Affording high levels of protection often has to be balanced with a need to minimise roof penetrations, requirements ideally suited to Uniline's revolutionary Uniline Synthetic Lifelinesystem.

Uniline TravellerOccasionally, structural tolerances in older buildings are such that anticipated impact loads need to be distributed very effectively or structure may need to be strengthened. Uniline Systems Integrators offer a full assessment and design service to help meet your specific requirements.

Facade Access

All buildings and structures require maintenance and as a general rule the taller they are the greater the difficulty in protecting the workers who undertake it. In exposed areas many factors have to be considered such as the regularity of access, climatic conditions, competence of the worker, type of tasks undertaken etc. It follows therefore that a one size fits all approach to fall protection is not appropriate. Our solutions vary according to the type of structure, the risks and influences anticipated and the implications on the structure, both in terms of tolerance and aesthetic impact.

For example Unirail can afford high levels of fall protection without adversely effecting building aesthetics.

Whereas Uniline can be installed to enable unhindered, hands free access with minimal fixings offering 'soft drop' an the relative low load to structure benefits.

Uni-8 can be installed as an overhead or work level system, enabling unrestricted access across facades.

Transport Worker Fall Protection

Overhead SystemRequirements to undertake work tasks at height on vehicles, aircraft and rail stock often presents fall arrests systems designers with a challenge - especially if clearance from work level to ground or obstacle is minimal or fixing structure only available at long spans. Fortunately such challenges are recognised and accommodated within the Uniine range of products.

All Uniline products benefit from defined predictability proven through testing. Uniline systems integrators can input fixing, user and clearance data into a dedicated calculation software programme to aid decision making and check structural requirements

Typically, the unique synthetic Uniline system is utilised in areas where either the use of wire systems is restricted by availability of structural steel to fix or there is a desire to achieve 'soft drop' or overall tolerances are deemed more compatible.

Uni-8 Overhead is suited to applications where fall clearances is limited and structural steel is available or constructed at regular intervals. In circumstances where fall clearance is very limited and or structural load tolerances are minimal or there is a reasonable desire to minimise free fall, Uniline is often the most appropriate solution.

Vertical and Inclined Access

Easy Climber offers the latest engineered solution for workers who require protection during ascent and descent of vertical ladders whilst gaining access to other structures, or whilst carrying out work on telecommunications masts, electricity pylons or other vertical utilities structures. Its unique design provides maximum freedom and functionality for the climber and ensures immediate, low impact fall arrest in the event of a slip or fall.

The Uni-8 Wire System can be used on inclined structures when the users movement needs to be restricted or when a slip could result in a serious injury.

Specialist Projects

When making provision for 'unusual' or 'specialist' applications, Uniline clients benefit from the companies extensive experience gained through working with people such as military bridge builders, heritage guardians responsible for cathedrals, castles and places, theme and adventure park managers, safety officers and architects.

The breadth of product offering is complimented by the Uniline Technical / Design team and the network of carefully selected, trained and monitored integration specialists.

Quality

Contract Planning

When lives are on the line, the importance of operating and maintaining a comprehensive quality assurance system cannot be overstated.

Uniline operates it's quality system in accordance with the requirements of ISO9001:2000. All of the company's products are tested in accordance with prevailing National Standards and are CE Marked in accordance with the requirements of the European PPE Directive by a European Notified Body. Many of Uniline's test procedures exceed National requirements and set standards in the fall protection industry.

Uniline use only the highest grade materials -

  • 316 Stainless Steel which is enhanced through Electro polishing.
  • Marine Grade Aluminium enhanced through anodising or powder coating.
  • Uniline Synthetic cable, which combines polyester and, neoprene, providing long term UV resistance.

Critical components undergo batch conformance testing and casting are X-ray and die-penetrative tested before being serial numbered for traceability and castings.

Uni-8 Cable

The Uni-8 horizontal lifeline system sets new standards in wire system performance and material quality. Manufactured from 316 stainless steel enhanced through electro polishing, system components are designed for heavy use in demanding environments. When assembled components enable users to gain access to exposed work areas without hindrance or restriction. The worker can disconnect or connect at any point designated safe to do so.

12m spans between structural fixings, supporting multiple users in restraint or fall arrest means that Uni-8 affords high level security at realistic cost.

As with all Uniline systems - exact system performance is definitively predictable through the dedicated Uniline calculation software programme made available to authorised 'integration specialists'.

Uni-8 is compatible with Uniline fixed and Force Management anchor assemblies.

Uni-8 Overhead Cable

Overhead SystemThe Uni-8 Overhead system has been specifically designed for application to structures above work areas where fixing centres may be limited and so longer spans between intermediate brackets are required - without compromising deflection distance or structural tolerances.

Once installed the system enables unhindered access using relatively heavy self retracting lifelines whose bulk and proximity to the user would normally cause wire system deflection or fowling when trying to negotiate support brackets.

Components and wire are manufactured from 316 electro polished stainless steel to the exacting standards set by Uniline, ensuring longevity and safety in even the most demanding environments.

Uni-16 uniline

Uni - 16 CableUniline is a unique synthetic cable that combines high strength with unrivalled dynamic performance and abrasion resistance. Cable properties enable span distances between fixings to far exceed those permissible with traditional wire based systems and yet limit and dampen load transfer to both the structure and fall victim.

Purpose built, high quality, attachment and tensioning components complement the Uniline cable aesthetically and in performance - being unobtrusive, corrosion resistant and enabling users to move unhindered regardless of their proximity to the system.

Uniline is a tried and tested solution, that has been installed and utilised in some of the worlds most demanding environments.

Uniline is compatible with Uniline fixed and Force Management anchor assemblies.

RoofSafe

RoofSafe represents a significant breakthrough in 'modern roof' fall protection solutions.Designed and manufactured for fitment to metal and composite roof systems, the RoofSafe extruded aluminium rail system can be easily installed to ensure protection on steeply pitched roofs or where suspended (roped) access is required and where fall clearance datum dictates that deflecting wire systems are inappropriate.

Combine such performance characteristics with the systems extremely low profile, high quality finish and absolute ease of use and it's easy to understand why RoofSafe has become the system of choice for those concerned about building aesthetics and uncompromising worker protection.

RoofSafeWhere short systems are required RoofSafe can also provide structural load benefits and a most cost effective solution.

UniRail

Unirail is amongst the most adaptable of all Uniline fall protection products.

Rail sections can be mounted overhead, at foot or waist level dependant on application and can be used for suspended access using ropes, positive restraint and fall arrest by multiple persons.

The unique interlocking rail sections and variety of slide fixing options means that fitment to masonry, concrete, steel, beams, rails and girders is possible even if corners, bends or changes in gradient need to be accommodated.

Once fitted the system free floats within fixings, enabling unhindered thermal expansion and contraction of both structure and system. The system utilises a four wheeled carriage to enable use without hindrance or restriction.

Roof Anchors

Uniline EyeThrough reorientation and displacement, Uniline Force Management Anchors are purpose designed and tested to ensure that loads resulting from a fall remain within the structural tolerances of typical modern roof sheets and build detail.

InstallationAnchors can be fitted retrospectively to standing seams, trapezoidal composite and metal profiles, single ply membrane, mineral felt, zinc and other roof types using specialist fasteners as approved by roofing manufacturers - preserving both weatherproofing and system integrity.

Standing Seam Brochure

On request Force Management Anchors can be colour matched, but are otherwise manufactured using grade alloy c/w a 316 stainless steel energy absorbing element. The anchors are finished with an architecturally approved powder coating system in RAL9006 and carry a 25 year performance and corrosion resistance guarantee (subject to terms and conditions) Anchors used on membrane and mineral felt roofing systems are manufactured using sheradised steel and are available with appropriate waterproofing detail.
