Industrial rope access teams completed the first complete bridge inspection of the Skye Bridge.  A gantry system was assembled on the quay side and craned onto a loading barge and floated into position.  Once in position a series of powered tirfors hauled the platform into position on to the under deck side to facilitate access for the structural survey team to carry out a cover meter assessment and visual report of the structure.  Many complex rope access systems were employed to assist in the installation and subsequent positioning of the platform system over the full length of the main span.
