Safety Net Fans

HASL supply all types of Safety Net Fans designed specifically to suit individual project requirements. Backed up by Combisafe's design team, we insure that each system is specifically designed with drawings provided showing overall system layout and component configuration.

Recent Project: Colmore Plaza, Birmingham

An assessment should always be carried out to decide which SNF is to be most suitable for the project. Both SNF systems have been designed in the same way in that their maximum projection range is 3m from the facade of the building, allowing them to be installed to suit almost any structure shape, using a range of accessories available.

The SNF has been designed to be folded up against the face of the building to allow for easy craneage, and for safety precaution in high winds and during heavy snowfalls. Design of the SNF has been made in order to sustain the effects of a fall by absorption in both the net and the supporting frame. The combination of both steel and aluminium in the supporting frame provide the advantage of both strength and weight. Both SNFs can be supplied with an additional fine meshed net ( 20mm x 20mm) or scaffolding sheeting in order to catch smaller objects or debris. Again consideration should be given to wind loads as the finer the mesh, the more sensitive the system becomes.

Safety Net Fall-Arrest Fans (SNFAF)

Colmore Plaza, BirminghamSafety Net Fall -Arrest Fans (SNFAF) can be used when you are working at a leading edge with formwork or steel erection where the risk of a fall from height is high. This SNFAF should be installed as close possible to the working surface in order to minimise the risk of injury in a fall, however it has been designed to catch a person falling from 6m. The SNFAF would be erected using a net mesh density of 60mm x 60mm and would conform to BS EN 1263-2 Safety net Part 2.

Safety Net Fall Protection Fans (SNFPF)

The SNFPF is used solely to catch falling materials and debris and is a simpler version than the fall-arrest model. This fan is usually used on high-rise buildings to protect the workforce and pedestrians at ground level, or the facade of the building whilst any works are being carried out overhead. The SNFPF system would be installed using a net mesh density of 100 x 100mm.
